The cicadas are still coming, but today’s Tracker build party has come and gone. HM joined WNYC’s effort to track exactly when Brood II will return on their 17-year cycle by contributing data from handmade digital soil thermometers. Click photo to see more images from the day.
Hack Manhattan will host a Cicada Tracker build party on Saturday, April 13th.
|Date||Saturday, April 13th|
|Time||12pm to 4pm—come any time|
|Address||Hack Manhattan, 137 West 14th Street, 2nd floor|
Kits will be available for sale for $20. Cash or credit card.
We designed this cheaper, simplified kit based on the original WNYC design. You can also bring the original WNYC version and we’ll help you assemble it. A limited number of printed circuit boards will also be available for those who want to solder the kit.
