Makerbot’s Replicator 2 is up and running for use on 3D Thursdays. Anyone who would like to see it in action, stop by from 7-9 pm! Bring a file, an idea, or download something from Thingiverse and we’ll see what we can do.
Current 1.75mm PLA (that’s the plastic filament used for printing) stock is only in clear and white, so if you want other colors it’s BYO for now…or you can always try out our member-built Prusa RepRap printer instead. It takes 3mm filament and we’ve got a little more of that hanging around.
FYI, filament is not free — so for anything more than a small test we’ll ask that you kick in so we can keep our supplies up.
